Dear Esteemed Colleagues, We currently seeking Bangkok-Based Khmer, Bahasa Indonesian, Lao, Thai, Vietnamese Interpreters for a long-term collaboration.
Responsibilities
The ideal candicates must: 1) have a proven track-record with at least 5 years of providing professional translation between English and and the target languages (Khmer, Bahasa Indonesia, Lao, Thai, Vietnamese) in the area of Gender-based Violence Prevention and Social Justice with international organizations or UN organizations. 2) have a degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communication, or a related field or relevant certifications in translation or language studies are highly desirable.
Requirements
Note: Familiarity with CEDAW, gender and development, TFGBV, GBV, social norms, FGM/C and child, early and forced marriage. 3) Be proficient in using Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) tools and maintaining interpretation memories. 4) have strong research skills to accurately translate specialized terminology. 5) demonstrate ability to maintain consistency in terminology, style, and tone across multiple documents. Note: Experience with developing or using glossaries and style guides is beneficial. 6) have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with UN focal points and subject matter experts.
